What to Expect During Training

Getting proper fusion training is an investment that will pay off very quickly during an installation. To get the most out of training, there are a few things contractors and plumbers should do before their course begins.

• Schedule at least two hours of time for training a small group, and four to six hours for larger groups. Training is based on several important areas and will last for as long as it takes you and your trainer to cover it all.  Everyone will need to assemble a practice kit, so larger groups take longer.
  
• Make sure that sufficient power is available. Your trainer will usually have at least two 110V tools that can draw up to 1400 watts of power each.
• Go through the Aquatherm Catalog or Website and familiarize yourself with the pipe and its installation methods.
• Contact your trainer and let him know how many installers you are planning on having trained. Practice kits need to be ordered in advance, so it is best to guess high.
• Most trainers charge a small training fee to cover the cost and shipping of the practice kits. Contact your trainer and discuss the fee, if any, before the class begins.
• With your trainer, decide if you will be trained on butt-fusion in addition to socket and outlet fusion. If so, you and your trainer will need to make sure that a butt-fusion machine is available for the course. Butt-fusion training will take additional time, so be prepared for that.
