Climasystem Heating and Cooling

climasystem panelsRoom Heating and Cooling

An individual´s comfort and efficiency directly depend on the basic environmental conditions of his surroundings. Working efficiency varies according to temperature with every cooling or heating degree. If a room is too hot, too cold, too drafty or too noisy, it can result in decreased productivity and comfort. Aquatherm's climasystem is uses radiant heating and cooling to provide quiet, draft-free climate control at a consistant and ideal temperature.

Radiant heating and cooling is very efficient and can used completely independantly of the ventillation system. Climasystem is uniquely engineered to provide both heating and cooling using the same system and can go from being off to having a noticable effect on the room in as little as four minutes.

How the system works

climasystem panels installed Climasystem is designed to fit under the drywall or any other interior-finished surface. Construction thickness including manifolds, mounting with the aquatherm-climasystemrail and connections amounts to only 24.5 mm or 1 inch. The pipe grids have rectangular manifolds, which can be interlinked. This allows for an easy design and installation using the reverse return principle.

The water volume for the required thermal output is distributed via square pipes (12 mm/25m pipe per m2) within the grids. Climasystem's polypropylene composition helps minimize both velocity of flow and the pressure drop. Velocity of flow for a surface area of approx. 10 m2 is below 0.3 m/s.

When used in suspended ceilings, aquatherm's climasystem can be installed in tile size modules. It can also be installed in dry construction behind gypsum wall board, or in wet construction, embedded in wall and covered with plaster. Climasystem wall panels are designed to fit neatly between the framing studs.

Advantages

When filled with water, the panels only weigh .5 lb/ft2 (2.5 kg/m2) and do not affect the design of the ceiling element construction. Insulating the panels on the side facing away from the room focuses all the energy into the desired area and maxizmizes the efficiency of the system. Depending on their design, the pipe grids are connected by means of heat fusion or by pushfit couplings, and connected to the cooling- and heating water circuits.

Advantages:
  • No leaks
  • Noiseless
  • Dust reduction
  • Simple control technique
  • Thermal properties of the building are enhanced
  • System extendable
  • Quick installation thanks to high degree of prefabrication
  • Even temperature distribution
  • Safe connection techniques by thermal fusion
  • Pushfit connection for ceiling elements
  • Oxygen barrier
  • Minimal construction thickness
  • Greater architectural design freedom
  • Energy saving
climasystem ceiling panel The effect of the aquatherm-climasystems is to heat or cool the surface of a wall or ceiling that it is installed behind by a few degrees below or above the ambient temperature. By radiation exchange with the surfaces, temperatures of the room and furnishings change. The heat transfer rate is determined by the difference between ambient temperature and average surface temperature. A high graduated equals a high rate of heat transfer. Controls can be set up to regulate this rate of transfer, but in most cases, a very low temperature gradiant is suitable for climate control, allowing the system to run off efficienct energy sources such as solar and ground source heating and cooling.
