Aquatherm Pipe Popular Alternative at Green Building Expo
In a market with few environmentally friendly alternatives, Aquatherm’s polypropylene pressure piping systems stand out as the exciting wave of the future. And the buzz it generated at this year’s Greenbuild expo show was proof that the green building community agrees.
Many of the visitors were excited to find an alternative pipe that is safer than other plastics and more resilient to hard water than metal pipes, which is a mounting problem in many areas. Most were surprised to find that the pipe was considerably cheaper than copper and competitive with other plastic systems. Visitors interested LEED points were excited by the cleanliness of the heat-fusion joining system. “I had a lot of people sniff the pipe after we fused it,” said Adam Clark, Aquatherm’s Director of Marketing Resources. “They couldn’t believe that there were no fumes, no VOCs, and no smell. Most of them were thrilled to find out that they had a better choice than metal, PEX, or CPVC.” The booth was also run by Steve Clark and sales reps from Sustainable Building Products and Priest-Zimmerman Inc. Despite being located at the back end of the exposition hall, the Aquatherm booth saw near-constant traffic throughout the show, with as many as twenty visitors crowded around the booth at any given time. Aquatherm has already made arrangements to attend Greenbuild in Chicago next year. Attendees who are interested in learning more about Aquatherm piping systems should contact their local manufacturer's rep. |
